In continuation with this game being a Trackmania clone, I added medals (WIP with those sprites). Once you get gold, you can see my ghost in addition to your own. You can turn this off in game settings.
Other changes:
- Working taillights
- Car windshield
- Boost now halts all sideways momentum and pushes the car in the direction it's facing
- Hot lap tracks have you start a ways before the finish line to build up speed on a respawn
- Volume slider
- New desert track, a simple sweeping loop that you might need to drift on for the best time
Next up:
- 3D track meshes with a new method of distorting meshes based on the road spline instead of generating thousands of polygons when the level loads
- More assets for the coastal area
- An actual campaign with gradations of track difficulties and harder tracks locked behind medal requirements. I'm taking suggestions on names for difficulty levels if anyone has ideas.
